Few days ago I tried to create detailed model of boeing 787-8 dreamliner aircraft with moi3d.Borring part was to blend all of the windows. For the doors I've used awesome inset tool when I jointed with fuselage. There were some mistakes which I saw too late. One is the bulge at front part of the fuselage.Second was the engine carrier which is not positioned at the center of my engine unioned.Third was cut out mistake at the end of my fuselage. Now I'm thinking about landing gears parts to create or I will let it without it.Anyway enjoy my WIP screenshot.

Hi Michael

Thank you Michael for your feedback.I tried to render with Simlab Composer, but some faces are missing when exporting it in to obj file.I tried also to upload it to sketchfab and it shows me the same problem. When exported to fbx it looks better, but also there are some normal errors.Below are some of my attachments with 3dm zip file.I have only problems above my passenger windows. For creating windows I made closed profiles and created cuts with trim tool. Then I pulled my windows inside and connected with blend tool.Doors were created also with trim tool, but then I jointed with fuselage and created insets with inset tool.Maybe I do something wrong,or polygonal exporters can't handle this model.Other parts looks great.Thanx in advance for your advice.

Regards from Nikola

Hi Nikola, what settings are you using for your OBJ export, are you using "Output: N-gons" ?

If so try changing that setting to "Output: Quads & Triangles" instead and see if that works better for you.

Some programs do not deal very well with highly complex n-gons, and may fail to triangulate them properly. If you use "Output: Quads & Triangles" mode (it's an option on the meshing dialog that pops up when exporting to OBJ format), the triangulation of complex polygons will happen inside of MoI instead of inside of the receiving program.

Have you tried to use the quad and tris, on even just tries export option ?

Looks like Simlab or Sketchfab have trouble to redraw the super long ngones when using .obj format.
If you dont want triangulate model, you could try the 'divide larger than' option ... a value of 0.5 seems good here ... that will help to avoid very complex ngone.

.Obj is not very great for ngones export, probably the worse format in fact.
The model is rendered fine in Modo, using .lwo or .fbx format, with default export settings.

Thank you PaQ and Michael for your advices. The important thing is that some polygonal exporters works for my model, like lwo and fbx.
Thanx again for your answer and for your advices,I will keep trying with other extensions too.

Best Regards from Nikola
