Poly to NURBs Techniques?

Hello,

There seems to be a great deal of buzz around polys to NURBs. Is there any value in providing some examples of poly objects that one finds challenging to recreate and have others take a crack at an acceptable solution? One wouldn't even need to be limited by solely using MoI.

Hi OSTexo,

i would say organic or mathematical models for example are not easy to construct with NURBS. Here's a Tetrus model i did long time ago with polygons and then converted it with T-Splines.

Here's another one, a Batwing Surface, created in Surface Evolver (tries) retopo in 3DCoat and then T-Splines demo again.
