Wow, good news about the imminent release. I totally forgot about this thread (no email notification?).
Michael, do make sure that you inform as many people as possible about the release. MoI is really great and deserves attention. If you need help with marketing and spreading the word, I'll help where I can.

Hi Michael,

Firstly great to see a lot of exciting stuff that you're adding for V3 - the last time I posted here was about 6 years ago!
I'm still teaching SolidWorks (product and furniture design) and toward the end of the year I show my students alternatives to SW especially packages that are more affordable - previously I believe the Moi3D EDU version was an unrestricted license - is that still the case (and for V3 too)? I think Moi is a great fit for the product design and ID as it gets out of your way and lets you focus on designing much more than other CAD programs I've used. Also it good to see you've done a mac version - I don't use a mac but a lot more students are using them now and they love to complain that SW won't run on them.

Thanks again,

Tobi

Hi Tobi, thanks for showing MoI to your students!

Yup, that's still the case and will be the case for v3 as well. The MoI EDU version can be used for any type of work including commercial work, and can continue to be used after graduation as well. It is not a "not for commercial use" license and does not have any sort of watermarks or things like that.

Thanks, - Michael

I'm down to a pretty small remaining amount of help file updating left to do... Almost there but it's not out quite yet.

Ups!
Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound like I got the V3.
I was just happy about finally being able to buy MoI, and save my work!
I have a small budget, so I couldn't buy the V2, when it was so close to the V3 release, and then also pay for upgrade(even though Michael deserves it).

Michael, do you have already an idea about the pricing for the upgrade (also the edu version)?

Hi mark,

> Michael, do you have already an idea about the pricing for the upgrade (also the edu version)?

I expect prices to stay the same as they were for v2, so a v3 upgrade from v2 would be $100. But if you order v2 now or have ordered it just recently you will get an automatic upgrade to v3.

Hi Micheal,
You had kindly donated a version to our skatepark non-profit a while ago(No skatepark yet but its still moving forward). Anyway, I would like to upgrade - and pay for - the new version whenever it become available. What would be the upgrade cost?

Thanks

Hi yakas, the v3 upgrade version will be $100, that will be available if you have any previous version. The V3 release is just about ready, hopefully I'll finish within the next couple of days.
