Hi

I use Isect command to generate a curve from intersection of two surfaces ( see image1). if you look at the curve closely (see image 2) at the top and the bottom the curve is not smooth as the rest of the curve. Do you have any idea what is casing this?

Thanks

It looks to me like the "helicoid" surface is not nice and smooth, but rather wrinkled?

Hi Sharif,

> Do you have any idea what is casing this?

It appears to be happening because one of the surfaces has little bumps and waves in that same area. So the intersection curve is just following the shape of the surface there.

You can see the bumps a bit more easily if you hide the green object:

Hi Michael;

The orange surface created by sweep a straight line along a curve. I noticed that when I set the sweep option twist to flat I get the bump/wave at top and bottom of the surface. If the sweep option set to freeform the resulting surface is perfectly smooth. Is there any solution to this?

Thanks

Hello,

You could try the Network command instead, it gives a better result. I used Network, Mode Uniform, Point Count 5 and it gave a very nice result. if you needed to trim that screw it also trims cleanly, no wobble at the top and bottom.
