Michael, could you pleas make some new tool - Pencil. It will be draw on CPlain. It will have only 2 function: 1-Draw, 2-Erase (by holding CTRL).
It will be good that it has opacity, preasure sensetivity and brush size.
I need it very much, becouse some time I start from sketch and have to make it in other software and then import it in MOI etc... Also that is MORE important if I made detail I wand to draw on it to quickly see how it will looks with this or that variations and to show to client some diffrent variants.

Also it will allow to make some quick sketches in 3D.

So I think PENCIL tool will be very useful.

Hi Andrei, I'd like to make something like that in the future, but it's a fairly different sort of mechanism than other drawing tools currently in MoI so it will take quite a bit of work to make it. Features like that which require a substantial amount of work are difficult for me to schedule.

Do you mean to erase just some portion of a sketch curve? Or erase an entire previously created one? Or just the last one you created?

Hi Andrei,

> Is it possible?

Certainly "possible", but involving a substantial amount of work... It's not easy for MoI to treat curves like bitmap pixels which is probably what is going on in your example there.

It would probably involve many months of full time effort just focused only on that alone so it's unlikely that I'd be able to do that anytime too soon.

But may be it is possible to erase the segment/segments that is under the erase tool?

Now after fixing Tablet, I can draw with it very easy and only eraser is missed...

Hi Andrei,

> But may be it is possible to erase the segment/segments that is under the erase tool?

It could be possible in the future at some point. At the moment there is nothing in MoI that tries to use the eraser part of a stylus pen and I don't really know yet how much work is involved in accessing it and supporting it across multiple platforms.

But because it involves additional research and testing for using something not currently in place it's not exactly an easy work item.

Some kind of eraser could be very productive when exploring 2d ideas.

I was thinking of a vector eraser though, maybe a standalone tool with a couple of modes :

- Eraser mode that would erase based on a pointer radius, similar to what Andrei described.
- Quicktrim mode that would cut objects at their nearest intersection with other elements.

It could work on selected objects only, or on everything if there's nothing selected.

This request reminds me of grease pencil in blender.

I personally don't have a need for it but I can see how others might.
