Can't minimize MOI

Michael,

MOI will not minimize (as of 10 minutes ago). It just closes upon clicking the minimize button. Could this have something to do with a recent flash update?

ok, I guess it is minimizing but it just doesn't appear on the task bar. Although, if I open a browser, then close it, the minimized MOI file appears. Recent updates were flash and avg. I uninstalled the flash update but it made no difference. Avg won't let me roll back the recent update. help.

Hi beanworks, that sounds pretty weird...

I'd recommend trying a system reboot and see if things behave better after that.

Are you running v2 or the v3 beta?

I doubt that a flash update would have anything to do with MoI...

I'm running the latest v3 beta. it does somehow seem related to opening and closing a browser (firefox). Yes, I have rebooted several times, no avail.

That's weird. What happens if you launch Firefox in "safe mode" which you can do by holding down the shift key when you launch it? Do you maybe have some kind of add-on running inside of Firefox that has anything to do with changing mouse behavior?

Also what operating system are you running? You previously wrote:

"ok, I guess it is minimizing but it just doesn't appear on the task bar."

But that is in itself a kind of weird situation because normally programs should be shown on the task bar just when they are running, no matter if they are maximized or minimized.

Do you mean that when you initially launch MoI it does not show anything for it on the task bar at all?

Hmmm, well that is pretty mysterious.

Is there any difference in behavior if you try to minimize MoI when MoI is not maximized? I mean push the "restore" button that is in between the minimize and close buttons, so that MoI is a smaller window with a regular title bar on it. Does that then minimize ok at that point?

You might also see what happens if you set up a keyboard shortcut to do the minimize, you can do that by putting in this script for the shortcut key:
script: /* minimize main window */ moi.ui.mainWindow.minimize();

Another thing to try is to temporarily disable your virus checker and see if that has any change in behavior as well. Sometimes virus checkers can kind of intrude into how things function and introduce some strange side effects as well.

bemfarmer, Control Alt Del shows the processes are running, I just can't see it in the task bar.

Michael, none of the suggestions have any effect. Strange

right click the taskbar and look at it's properties and see if the taskbar buttons option has been changed.
