As title says - Looks like that option in the ini file is not working anymore? I usually set it to N. Any ideas?

Hi Max,

I gave it a quick test and it seems to be working for me over here.

Try this - draw a circle and set it to style = red, then extrude it.

The style of the generated extrusion is different depending on the setting:

[Styles]
GeneratedObjectsInheritStyle=y

With =y the extrusion gets style of red copied from its generator curve. With =n the extrusion gets the "current style" applied to it instead of the generator curve's style.

If something is not behaving as expected for you could you describe what is happening in more detail and maybe post a sample file so I could try to reproduce the problem over here?

Thanks,
- Michael

Hi Max,

> Anyways it's happening on new files as well!

What exactly is happening, could you describe a series of steps with particular commands you're using so I can try to repeat it over here?

Well I draw a curve and put it on layer A. Then I set current layer to B, extrude the curve but the solid doesn't go on layer B!

I installed latest beta on my other PC. For new projects, the option works fine, but for that one I sent you it's not working, I don't know why..
Thank you Michael, regards
Max.

On my PC if I draw a red circle and then select the blue layer then extrude, I get a red cylinder.

I'm using Win7-64bit.

Draw a red circle. Select the circle and click on the blue style button. The circle then becomes blue ... then extrude.
cheers,
eric

Hi Max, I've been able to track down the new bug in the last beta that was causing GeneratedObjectsInheritStyle=n to not work properly.

The reason why I could not reproduce it when you first reported it is that the bug is masked if the current style happens to be the very first style in the style list.

One workaround is after you do an extrude with GeneratedObjectsInheritStyle=n, if you immediately do an undo and redo, the result of the redo will pop into the proper style.

The bug will be fixed in the next v3 beta though which I'm hoping to not take too long to get out.

Thank you Michael, I'm glad you discovered it's just a bug. I used that option a lot and I miss it so much :'(
