Just curious if there is anything in the immediate pipeline? I'm considering buying MOI as an option to construct the more organic and curvy shapes that my scale model building parts require than my copy of Geomagic/Alibre simply cannot easily handle, but I don't want to purchase right now if an update is on the horizon. Alternately, if one purchases now are future updates included in the purchase price?

Hi Bob, there is a new version 3.0 that's getting pretty close to being released, it's in the final stages but I don't have a specific hard target date quite yet. Maybe something around a couple of months away though. Maybe less if I'm lucky, maybe more if I'm unlucky and get stuck on some of the final details.

No, updates are not automatically included but there is a discounted update version that you will be able to get rather than needing to get the full version.

I might do an automatic update for people who purchased just right before the new version came out, but I have not done that before and I have not worked out any details of that yet so I can't guarantee anything about that yet.

So anyway, yes there is a new version coming pretty soon but I'm sorry I cannot tell you the exact date when it will be out quite yet.

I can't help but add my 2 cents here.
If you buy ver 2 now you can download and use the beta of Ver 3 immediately ... and it is a great modeling tool.
By the time the final ver 3 comes out you will have had a chance to learn it and flow immediately into the final version.
Michael has always been fair and modest in his upgrade pricing so you really can't lose much in price by buying now and you will have gained a lot by having ver 3 in your hands now.

No, I am not on his sales staff ... I just love to use this great program. Though I have other modelers this is the one I use 90% of the time and it just gets better and better.

This is probable too late for the originator but if you own Geomagic/Alibre MOI is free there is a download on the Geomagic site!!

Apparently they know Geomagic is limited.

MoI is bundled with what used to be called the "Alibre Design Expert" version, I guess now it's called Geomagic Design.

It's not included with the basic version.
