Hi Ralph so it sounds like you've been able to delete the face ok and now you have a hole.

You can remove many holes by selecting the edges of the hole's boundary and then hitting delete, that does what's called an "untrim" operation where that trim boundary is removed.

Also instead of doing an "untrim" you can plug the hole by putting in a surface there to fill it up. If it's a planar opening, those can be filled by selecting the object and then running Construct > Planar. If you have a whole object selected, Construct > Planar will look at it for edges that form planar openings and create surfaces there and join those surfaces to fill in the holes.

Either way will work but the untrim way is kind of more tidy because you will get a single simple plane as the result rather than 2 separate coplanar surfaces joined together.
