How remove

How would I remove the point on the right of the attached object?

Essentially I made a cone and then put a cylinder on it.

I want to remove the point of the cone beyond the cylinder.

I joined the cone and cylinder with a Boolean Union.

I haven't the slightest idea what I am doing as have not spent much time using MOI.

Thanks for the help,

Woops I just did a couple of left clicks and the point was selected so I hit delete!

Guess that answers my question.

Now how do I make the whole object solid?

I need to 3D print.

Select the Point solid & delete, select the hole curve & delete.

Hi Ralph so it sounds like you've been able to delete the face ok and now you have a hole.

You can remove many holes by selecting the edges of the hole's boundary and then hitting delete, that does what's called an "untrim" operation where that trim boundary is removed.

Check out danperk's video above or also here is some other info on "untrim" : http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=444.4

Also instead of doing an "untrim" you can plug the hole by putting in a surface there to fill it up. If it's a planar opening, those can be filled by selecting the object and then running Construct > Planar. If you have a whole object selected, Construct > Planar will look at it for edges that form planar openings and create surfaces there and join those surfaces to fill in the holes.

Either way will work but the untrim way is kind of more tidy because you will get a single simple plane as the result rather than 2 separate coplanar surfaces joined together.
