Hint: you can use more than one sphere :)
Use spheres to build a donut.

P.S. Thank you very much for the translation. But you definitly need to enlarge sliders. It's impossible to use the script with such small sliders.

Ah ok for the trick of the donuts :)

<< But you definitly need to enlarge sliders.
Seems sufficient as you can enter any number on the right's case! :)
And in French words are often more longer than English!

PS What render do you use for your gorgeous images ?

Pss Seems I have a problem!
Gride is exploded when arrive on the spheres!
In fact Spheres were not enough big but curious as they were more bigest than a square of the gride!
Seems sphere must be twice bigger than a "square" of the gride ?

Here gride passes away but the square is smaller than the sphere!

here that works because spheres are biggest :)

Possibilities are endless! :)
(cool your CommandBar Lighting + Dinos for put some car plastic lights! :)

Hi Pilou

>>Seems sufficient as you can enter any number on the right's case! :)
Not any number. Constraints settings can be changed with sliders only.

>>What render do you use for your gorgeous images ?
Octane render (http://render.otoy.com/)

>>Seems sphere must be twice bigger than a "square" of the gride ?
It depends of Timestep value.

Also you can try to increase Shear value to reduce flexibility.

Ah, yes you can enter number but you have put some maximum! :)

<< It depends of Timestep value.
So if time is not a good value gride can pass away even it's a little gride! :)

Really beautiful work Max!

Do you think a reverse-action version of this script could be applied to the scenario of flattening (un-forming / developing) a sheet metal blank that has been pressed over a form block?

Sorry. No. I haven't any plan to improve this script. Maybe later.

Yes, it can be done for a bended or folded surfaces. But not for pressed.

Those extra Buttons are homemade and it needs some code to add them to the interface.

If you want to play with the scripts (cloth) just copy the two files in your commands folder of moi.
Start MoI and hit TAB to get to the commandline and tipe in the filename without extension. For cloth it is _cloth

I'm working on something like an extension that will add extra buttons to the UI without haveing to deal with any codeing.

We will see how that goes.

Hi naxos

Which buttons are you missing.
I'd guess you refer to the CustomUI ones of Max?

Hi Naxos,

> How can i get those ? and so, how can i play with Cloth ?

Those extra buttons are from the CustomUI extension from here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=6507.1

And the Cloth plug-in is available earlier in this thread here:
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=6514.26

For the cloth one, unzip the attachment and copy the 2 files into the \commands sub-folder (for mac right click on the MoI app icon and choose "Show package contents" and go to drive_c/moi/commands, for Windows use the \commands folder inside of the main installation folder in c:\Program Files (x86)\MoI 3.0\commands).

That then makes a new cloth command available, set up a shortcut key with the command name (the name of the .js and .htm files without the ending file extension) on the shortcut.

Hi Max,

Hope you are well.

I have been playing around with your brilliant Cloth Simulation script and it got me thinking.

I've never used grasshopper, but I am wondering if this script has the bones of a physics engine like its "kangaroo" plugin that could be wrapped into a node?

I know that you are reluctant to invest time in further development because there may be compatibility issues with the upcoming Moi V4, but even the first step of just converting a compound surface into a parametrically determined point array would be super useful.

I look at your work, Cloth Simulation script in particular, and it just blows me away. And don't get me started Project Elephant....extraordinary stuff!

Have a great weekend
James
