How to cut a 3D surface in 2 parts?

A very easy method :)
Draw a curve : extrude it by "Direction" through your object to cut (or place your template)
Select your Object : Trim it by the extruded curve previous
Kill the "extruded line"
Your have your object cuted in 2 parts :)
Valuable for any objects :)

Very cool Pilou, great example!

One other quick tip - if your cutting curve is planar you should generally be able to skip the extrude step, since there is some automatic extruding built into Trim itself.

Also sometimes it can be convenient to use Boolean Difference to do cuts like this as well.
