Hi Andrei, actually I guess you shouldn't form triangles on the end because the side surfaces are not flat and if you just draw in a straight line it may not hug the surface well enough to cut it.

So instead of a straight line here:

Put in instead a 3 point plane surface (Draw solid > Plane > 3pts), snapped on to these 3 points:

So your cutting object would be the chamfer fragment and then one of those 3 point planes on either side.

- Michael

I used flow. If I wanted to keep the 45 angle, I would scale the bottom points of the triangles out before I do the loft, so they do a complete cut without the history adjust.

Some problems with it! Some difficulties to install etc...
Why don't send a simple .zip with a normal host ?

So I have not the example file for try something :)
But seems i will make a simple sweep + Boolean Diff

Frenchy,
When you first navigate to the file, look for the checkmark for "use our downloader" and uncheck that... Don't install their downloader.

Thanks guys, Michael interesting idea with chamfer and undo, I made chamfer surface using isocurves in my example. Burrman good idea but looks a bit complicated for me, I use Flow very rarely, it seems to me a bit complicated :) Anyway thanks.
I found today another method that is very fast, you have to set CPlain from view and then cut it. Very simple method but you have to go to ortho view and find good angle to cut.

Pilou, did not know about that stuff, just looked at download page, yes you have to uncheck - use our download manager. There was no this thing in the past :)

Just found, some how it can be controled via chamfer. May be there is onother way to control it?

Hi Andrei,

> But one thing! How to control angle of this?

One possibility is if you shoot a 3 point plane coming straight off that chamfer segment edge, you can then select it and use Transform > Rotate > Rotate axis to pivot it by your specific desired angle.

The "rotate axis" transform allows you to pick any line as the rotation axis and your object will pivot about that line.

Just make the plane long enough so that it sticks all the way up through the object after it has been rotated.

It's just for regulate the 2 extremities of the object to boolean Diff from the big one!
Cut Path with 2 extremities choosen and sweep!
But caps are perpendicular to the path!

I suppose you know the Transform Orient / Orient for Slide an object perpendiculary (or not) to a path! :)
