Straight loft problem with more than 2 profiles

Any time I try to loft more than 2 of the rectangles in the attachment:

using a straight style loft, it creates the artifacting seen in the attachment:

And the loft checkbox to create a closed loft appears (checking it makes a different, but equally bad artifact seemingly skipping over a profile). If I loft these rects 2 at a time and then union the results I get exactly what I want.

I'm using v3 nov 19.

Hi Supagoat, thanks for posting the file to reproduce this - it looks like a bug in the surface splitting mechanism, the way straight sections loft works internally is that it builds a long surface that has kinks in it and then splits it up, it seems that one piece is not getting split as it should.

Tommorrow I will take a closer look into the splitting mechanism to see some more details about the bug and investigate what's involved in fixing it.

Thanks, - Michael

It lofts in straight mode if selection is done from big to small rectangles, left to right in 3d view.
Incorrect loft occurs if selection is from right to left.

It lofts ok if the middle size rectangle is moved away enough from the large rectangle.
