A few MoI questions

Hi,

Continuing to enjoy MoI, I've encountered a few situations that brought up these questions:

• Is there a way to change common parameters of an object range, such as the radius of 40 cylinders created using one of the Array tools?
In Blender you make use of instances for this, or use the Array modifier to non-destructively make an adjustable array of objects.

• Is there a way to select a range of objects by similar features, such a selecting all spheres in a scene, or all cylinders with a shared parameter (such as the radius) ?

Thanks,

Metin

Hi Metin, sorry no there isn't currently any built in way to do either of these things with the current tool set. In the future I do want to add support for instances which would then probably cover both of these areas, you would. Currently MoI does not have any mechanism in it to make instances.

Right now you would just need to delete the array, edit the base object and remake the array again.

Hi Metin, you might be able to handle the second thing by doing some preparation in advance, like assign a specific name to a particular radius sphere or cylinder right after you create it, and then make copies of that object to make new ones. Then all those objects will have the same object name on them and you would be able to target them all for selection later on using the Objects section of the Scene Browser.
