How do I do this?

Hello all, hello Michael.
By the way, Michael, yes modifying the settings you told me last night before importing IGS files, no problems. Even in my low memory machine (I am setting up the new machine today....)

Please, take a look at the attched file.
In my still playing around when time permits, and I would like
to somehow curved and bool union the solid relief R to my band B, following the natural curved band (am I making sense?), so it becomes a bass-reliefed band (heightened field band).

Is it possible to do something like this in MOI?

Thank you very much

Hi Rudy, that's good - you'll probably need to use those modified settings to work with those types of denser relief surfaces until I can fix this problem. It's probably a good idea even on a higher memory machine since the really dense display mesh will generally slow things down and take longer to draw in addition to taking up a bunch of memory.

About curving the relief around the band - MoI doesn't have anything that will perform that function. You'll need to use Rhino 4.0 for that type of warping procedure, they have a new tool in version 4 called "FlowAlongSrf" that will do that type of processing.

For viewing geometry open the "BassRelief.3dm" and use HideCommnad
for Zsurf read

Wow, very cool! That avoids the problem of needing to bend it in MoI by using a Cylinder base surface in ZSurf for creating the surface.

Nice result!

Halo to everything,
Yeep, Zsurf is a good tool for bassrelief and bendcommand.
I also thinks, for bend is still too early, very important it is edge_select_command (edgeloop, edgering, edge+ -),
without edgecommand, modelling is expenditure-braked.
Rudi, in the picture sees combination between Blend+HideCommand.

You must turn writings in Zsurf :
Zsurf...Open...Cancel...Cancel...Font (Enter text)...RMB (Rotate Activ)...LMB (Rotate)...MakeBitmap
