Hi Max, yeah I would like to have the concept of a 2D printed page layout or "sheet" type mechanism like you're asking about here.

There will be quite a substantial amount of work involved to develop it, so I'm not exactly sure when it will happen. Getting a hidden line mechanism working was one of the necessary ingredients for it, so at least that's been a recent step in that direction.

Thank you, it would be great. Often I have to print my models and drawings in a suitable way for presentation, and switching to other software for working on it costs me time, after all, and I know you can understand. Also, it would be time saving to have a line type (solid, or dashed, dotted) and line width assigned as a property of the style.

Another useful feature taken from BIM. Let's say, for example, when the layouting feature will be implemented, it will be possible to have more than a drawing in the same file, organized in different tabs maybe. Then, you will be able to show the content of another tab as semi-transparent, snap-able, not-editable in the current tab. Often we have to deal with different shapes of objects and it would be useful to see the differences between them in real time, but keeping each drawing organized and separated from each other. Yet the software must not become complex, but I have some thoughts for the UI to keep it simple.
For example:
- Line type and thickness as property of the style
- Dimensions could be found in the "line" tab (just to begin with, then it would become more perfect with time)
- Hatches as a special type of style (not really a prio)
- Drawings tabs in the lower part of the UI
- Each view on the print-space can have a different combination of styles.

That's all, and I mean, that really is all. I know this is not going to happen anything soon, but thank you for always considering users needs.
Regards,
M.
