Separated Tabs in Side Pane

Below image is the default side pane

You may have noticed, I'm working on a 27 inch display which has a massive resolution of 2560x1440 and as you see there is too much wasted space in side pane area. We can use that wasted space by separating all the grouped tabs.

I've searched the entire forum. There's an edited version of an UI file (SidePane.htm) but unfortunately it does not work for version 3 beta (aug1). So I decided to edit it myself and share with you. I hope you'll find it useful.

P.S Dont forget to backup the original SidePane.htm

Thanks

Hi milkywaif,

Thanks for the sidepane. Much better now as i'm also on an 27inch display.

Still wasting a bit of space on the top, somehow the 1st Tool - Draw curve - leaves some empty space whatever is the UI size. Strange.

Wish i could separate the Tools from the viewports, to place it on an 2nd monitor.

Like a lot of your UI style, quite elegant. Care to share?

Carlos

Thats the command and object properties area. Run a command or select an object to see it.

If that area were to not be there during viewing, and then "pop in" when needed, the entire toolbar would be jumping up and down all the time.

Hi Guilherme,
I'm glad you liked it.

> Still wasting a bit of space on the top, somehow the 1st Tool - Draw curve - leaves some empty space whatever is the UI size. Strange.

I think top space is like BurrMan said, reserved for tool settings and object properties. At least all tabs are ungrouped and visible now :)

Of course. I'm sharing my complete ui folder as zip because replacing moi.css is not enough for sharp viewport corners. There are some edited png files (it's been a while, I forgot which they are). I edited them because I believe that's the only way to get rid of those ugly blue tinted, rounded viewport corners :p

Hi BurMan,,

I understand, it doesn-t make sense the tools jumping all the time.

Thanks..

A little bonus: Nsided icon
I didn't spend too much time with it because original icon will be out when v3 final comes out.
Enjoy.
