Hi All,

This question is not related to MOI. I am sorry, but I know that this forum is a great source of information and maybe one of you can help me.
It is now 2 years I am using Moi3D and Octane Render for my works. I now need to do I kind of simple animation like this one.

Does someone know what software I can use? I have adobe flash but I can only do 2d stuff.

Thanks all

1) Look at KeyShot render with the Animation option. The latest version of KeyShot has a "toon" shader that gives a very nice illustration quality to 3D models, and you can easily animate your models within KeyShot. Sample toon shader animation: http://keyshot.com/forum/index.php/topic,6409.0.html

2) If you want to just move 2D images around and animate some connecting lines and text, Adobe After Effects alone will work well.

3) Also take a look at Element 3D. It is a plug-in for After Effects that allows animation of 3D models within After Effects. See: https://www.videocopilot.net/products/element/

4) Finally, look at SimLab Composer. It has animation capability. http://www.simlab-soft.com/3d-products/simlab-composer-main.aspx

SimLab, KeyShot and Element 3D work well with MoI obj models.

Another possibility is Carrara: http://www.daz3d.com/products/carrara/

Either Simlab Composer or Carrara are pretty inexpensive options. Keyshot is probably the easiest to use but is also more expensive as well.

The free Sketchup is sufficient for NPR (No Photo realistic) animations ;)

"You have Adobe flash". Do you already know how to use it? It will do a good job of that type of animation. MoI's next release will have a great hidden line removal export to 2d formats that will load fine in flash...... Use what you already have.

Thanks Burman,

I have already made pretty good 2d animations with flash.
You are right Flash is a vary good software, but I need to work with 3D stuff and flash does not work in 3d. I need to represent a perspective view and it is unthinkable working on 2d for my next project. The first part of the video can be easily made with Flash but if you watch the final one you can realize that with flash you do not achieve easily (or you do not achieve them at all, at least without the support of other software) such alignments and shadows unless you spend a crazy amount of time in there (and it is a parallel view, easier). I was told to integrate Flash with "Stage 3D" but not easy solution.

Thanks for the info about Moi next release. I look forward for that.

Thanks Pilou,
I think it is quite good the video even if the animation is not as smooth as I would like to see but I will look at sketch up again.
