Hi, is there a way to force the AA when the edges of the solids/surfaces are not visible?

Hi Max, sorry no there isn't currently any way to set antialiasing on for just the shaded surface display instead of the edges.

At some point in the future I'll probably add that in - it hasn't happened yet because it's a somewhat finicky thing to query the card to see what different modes are supported.

No, because if you force it on in at the video driver level it also tends to get forced on for some selection tasks and that will cause the selection mechanism to get messed up.

if you just need AA-ed solids for "beauty shots" and the like, you could grab the view at a rather steep resolution and then scale it down to a third or so. that will get rid of most aliased edges..
