Yes but that oblige to be "plane" around the nozes that is not the case of my example!

Bonsoir Pilou:
agree with Michael...you can't expect fillet engine do something in a tight wrinkled area like that
but you can refine this object using sweep like this way

you can see after sweeping you have anymore wrinkles in that sharp area

i attached file, check inside the browser i marked splines i used
last orange one is final result.
your original shape without wrinkles, filleted using blend G2,mataining enough sharpness corner in front area
hope it helps: Mauro :)

Hi Pilou,

> Maybe i am wrong but seems all volumes made with a Loft on "point" failed to make fillet on their sections!
> Even the curvatures are made as near"tangent" on verticies so with a generous "rounding" for avoid the "pinch";)

It's pretty easy for lofting to a point to make an awkwardly pinched area in the kind of way you're trying to use it here. You may have better luck using the "Loft style: Loose" option rather than the regular loft - the regular loft applies a lot of "pressure" onto the generated shape since it is forced to go through each section rather than only being guided by each section.

But probably a different approach like Mauro shows above is a better idea for your case.

> At this subject does it possible to have something for see when moving this point just after the
> Loft to point (maybe enleighting it in "a square red") when you have the point just of the middle
> of convex / concave curvature ?

Sorry, I'm not sure I understand this part...

Just after the Loft when you move this point on the left or on the right, form is redrawn in real time
But by eyes it's very difficult to see where the point is on the good position on this line at the exact middle of these 2 curvatures!
Just at the moment where the form is not more "pinched" but becomes "rounded"! so enlight this position point! :)

Not exactly like follow but when the curvature becomes inversed! so "flat" here! :)

@ Mauro
yes...but
On my first example first post I obtain that I want with an artificial trim :)

that i want say, is that you can have "pinched" vertices and can make simple fillet in one click without any construction!
Sure there are not wrinkles made by some lofts in this case

There isn't anything implemented currently to put a red dot at points like those, sorry.

No problem! :)
With my curious method (found by hasard) of triming of the first post all works fine even there are wrinkles or not too pinched vertices!
Works also if you have many arcs circles, just 2 trimed are sufficient!
So not a a big deal! :)

Maybe this method can interested Samardac! ;)

Pilou, I'm not sure I understand totally what is you problem. You mean you can not make fillet? But why you do not use method that Cevjon suggest?

I can't make the fillet directly as the extremeties are pinched and wrinkled but with my little trick that works fine just with the little trim abvove!
Even the extremities are not very well smoothed at start!
I don't know why but the essential is that is working and more efficient for my case than the Cevjon method who works only with / / & horizontal curves and more speedy to make as the trimed curves are yet drawn! :)

Your curves don't have to be horizontal for the loft to work.

When you are creating organic shapes (like yours) then you will usually find loft works best.

yep
but as shown on my / your example
it's more easy to make a simple "fillet" than take in right position some "sections" curve for obtain the round "profil" ;)

I still can't see the problem with this.

If you loft the other way (as I showed earlier) it is quite easy to add a standard fillet to bottom of the shape ?

ok your images and method are very conviencing! :)

i will study that and see if I am wrong somewhere on the lines following

""But seems that is not the same start concept
I have several vertical half sections given for any reason (say for a boat)
you have several complete horizontal sections
does these horizontal sections can be done without make first the Loft & fillet or the vertical sections
And maybe not so easy to just change the angle of the Fillet than change all sizes of your section curves""

I must miss something
Can you post the 3dm of your blue images?
I am perplex about the 4 blue views
does this a mixing between my object and your so 2 differents objects in a compositing Split four view ?

How do you obain the horizontal sections? by project a line o the volume?

I am also interested by your classic fillet before /after for see what are the curves selected
thx by advance!

Frenchy

Here is the 3DM file

I used loft->loose->exact.
Fillet was 2.5

If your looking to model organic shapes with some sort of precision then you would probably need to model it like Mauro shows.

Thx
Ok I see : I was in error by the miss-align of the top view generator curves and the Loft loose state for the Point at top flat align with an "external circle form"

and as your name's file says, the bottom fillet don't yet work ! (bug ? ) or your fall in the same case than my first post! ;)
And how you solve it ? In redraw another curves? ;)

In any case I prefer my method because you don't need to redraw any curves! :)
You can apply directly the vertical sections given!
