When relocating a Cline should I be able to set an offset distance in the distance constraint entry field?

Draw your Cline
Click 1 second the "little white box"
Click Relocate Cline
Just type 13 inside the "d" box (bottom screen) if you want a distance of 13 and move the Cline! ;)
You will be authorized only between -13 or + 13

Hi Colin,

Yup, you should be able to click on that distance constraint field and put in a constraint value and have it work - the base point of the construction line should then be constrained to only move that given distance from its previous location.

Is that not working for you? I tested it over here and it seems to be working as expected for me.

You are right it does work, I was expecting to be able to tab into the distance constraint, in a similar way to the way you can with lines, for example..

cheers

Hi Colin, Tab behaving differently when you have a construction line going looks like a bug, I'll take a look at what's going on there.

For the moment clicking directly on the field instead of using Tab should work for this particular case.

Hi Colin, the bug had to do with the keyboard focus code trying to target an input control on the construction line popup menu (the one where you activate the "Relocate cline" from) even though the menu is actually hidden at that point.

I've got it fixed up now for the next beta, thanks for reporting it.

Also one other quick note - if you enter in a single number other than 0 inside of the XYZ input (the one where focus first goes when you push Tab when it's working ok) that will also be taken as a distance constraint. And also if the command itself does not have its own input fields, if you just start typing a number that keystroke and the focus will go into that XYZ field without needing to actually hit tab. So usually (aside from this cline bug) you can just type in your distance constraint number without needing to hit tab at all, just type in like 5 and push enter when drawing a line to activate distance constraint of 5.
