Helix around circle

I'm trying to make a helix around a circle such that the the diameter of the helix in the front (top view) of the circle is large and the back is small. Couldn't quite figure out how to do it so I followed
previous advice on the donut twist, uncurled the circle, made a tapered helix on the uncurled straight line, and flowed the helix onto the circle. But only half the circle as flowing along the
full circle would have created a different profile. I then mirrored the other half. As you can see in the red box, the ends don't join up as a continuation of the helix.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks much!

hi there

i would just do the whole tapered helix "offline" and then project it on that circle via flow. actually you just have to do the 2nd half in the other direction with the same parameters and everything will fit up nicely.
