Hi JerryBerry, your Converted.sat file comes in ok with the current MoI v4 beta, you can get it from http://moi3d.com/beta.htm .

One thing that's a little odd is the units are in meters so the object is of a small numeric size. You may be able to get it openable in MoI v3 if you can get the .sat file to be generated using an older version of the .sat format like version 8 or something like that. That will then make the .sat file use more general NURBS surfaces and curves for things rather than newer specialized entity types.

Here's what it looks like loaded into MoI v4:

Most sub $2000 MCAD's surface modeling are too weak, pretty useless for product design.

It's for that this little free one is a little gem! :)

and it's making PDF 3D!;)

Here a PDF 3D From a Moi Volume
so you can use the PDF 3D for some dimensions in direct in your favorite 3D PDF Viewer!

Not sure if this shows designspark have removed some import features over recent years:

http://help.spaceclaim.com/dsm/2.0/en/Content/Importing_and_exporting.htm

It lists autocad dxf. Click on blue autocad link and it will show dxf r12-r14, 2000 etc. (Import and export?!)

Can you confirm Pilou?

More comprehensive settings by file type here, click blue links at bottom of page:

http://help.spaceclaim.com/dsm/2.0/en/Content/File_import_and_export_options.htm

-----
》》》》 Maybe all this is out of date as the "2.0" might be from 2014 and we are now on v5??

Correct I think that full version is by ansys

"If your work demands exceed the capabilities including the add-on modules, you can consider the full version offered by the DS Mechanical developer- ANSYS SpaceClaim"

So in Moi but you better Union them before export else you must import in Moi 30 objects one by one :)
Not really a big deal but depending of what do you want ! :) (count 2 minutes if you import them one by one for this case)

here my object is not one by one so 2 seconds but i have only one object! But it's a solid as you can see! ;)

For a quick route to get part designs like boxes and cable glands maybe designspark is a good place to start.

What format are you exporting to to get these models into moi with?

Moi to DSM : Step format

DSM to Moi you must make this little trick! (I make all that following in 5 seconds)

For use the Step and can edit it in DSM 5.0
Load the .Step : draw anything ( a sphere) on your object Step imported: Right Click on the Top Arborescence : UnLock
Kill the Sphere ...your can make anything you want with your imported object!

Save as my_object.rsdoc
Rename it in my_object.zip put it in a folder on the Desktop say bob

Unzip : you have "C:\Users\Pilou\Desktop\bob\SpaceClaim\Geometry\part1bodies.sab"
this .sab must be convertered in .sat (converter given with DSM 5.0)

so with only one line !!! (put a space after the end " )
This only one line is to input in the Command Windows Box called by Pressing keys "Logo Windows" + R

"C:\Program Files\DesignSpark\DesignSpark Mechanical 5.0\SabSatConverter.exe"
-i "C:\Users\Pilou\Desktop\bob\SpaceClaim\Geometry\part1bodies.sab"
-o "C:\Users\Pilou\Desktop\my_object.sat"

Put you line command somewhere for an easy future use :)

Of course Pilou will be remplaced your name if existing!

Import or Open my_object.sat inside Moi :)

If you had not Union your object in DSM you will have part1bodies.sab, part2bodies.sab etc...
so remake the input...for each one! (the big object above was 30 objects for example)
