Hi Mike,

>>Is it the same shape - but inverted?<<

Yes, it is simply to show range of transition.

Attached is a nod file for wrapping sine wave around a circle.

I could have taken the short cut using mathPts node
with readily available equations, however I have taken the
scenic route, as an exercise in using vectors

James

Hi James,

Very interesting.
Still nutting it out - there may be questions....

Mike.

OK, James, here's one question.
I can visualise rotating the vectors around 0,0 and getting the resultant shapes from the tips of the vectors.
What is baffling me is why, when I switch on visibility on the rotateVec node, the tips of the vectors seem remote from the drawn shape.
See below.
Mike.

Hi Mike,

Yes, that is indeed odd! I had not turned on visibility.
Frankly, I can't understand why it works properly;
nevertheless try new nod file attached.

Vectors to be rotated are positioned at the origin (0,0,0)

James

Hi Mike,

In truth, this is not really the best application of vectors.
Having fixed the last nod file, I realised it would be simpler
to use transform/rotate node on point objects & then convert
back to point array

Have a look
James

Just as I was getting my head around vectors...
No worries I'll study this but there will be a delay while life intervenes.
