Hi Ed, I'm not really sure what the main advantage is... It's not like it's particularly difficult to rotate or pan in MoI already.

I'd think that for trying to place points accurately a real jittery hand waving in the air would be really problematic too, it looks like it might probably work better for big broad gestures and not a lot of fine motions.

Arm fatigue from waving your hands around in the air a lot could also be problematic too.

It kind of seems more about "cool factor" than practical usage.

The sad thing is that somebody out there (probably Autodesk) is busy frantically adding leap motion support to their product as we speak...

Part of the reason I haven't been sold on a space mouse is that ergonomically it doesn't seem to make that much sense. Perhaps it's a learning curve thing, or the awesome ergonomics of the Thinkpad "nipple mouse" placement, but I work insanely fast in MoI with great comfort.

The same could be said for Rhino with the difference being that I find the keyboard controls in MoI to be much more intuitive.
