Is that normal?
A plane + a circle (on the plane) give with boolean "merge" a minimum height to the circle?
( here I have erased the "center disc" result on the "front piece")
Ps Same result when the circle is over the plane

Hi Pilou, this one is definitely a bug, thanks for reporting it!

The bug is in how non-volumetric surfaces are handled in combination with auto-extruded curves. I've fixed this for the next beta so it will work in the expected way.

Hi Pilou, it is normal for this type of situation to fail.

It would be nice if it could work, but handling self-intersecting objects becomes much more difficult. Generally if a curve or surface folds and intersects itself it will not work properly for operations that involve calculating the intersections between objects.
