Denis, thank you very much for your feedback!
In fact, I'm not doing anything unusual - just modeling on the exact drawings.

Thus, the lower part of the locomotive is almost complete, remained a dozen parts.
He gathered all modeled in a single file.
The file weighs 288 megabytes and is already beginning to slow down MOI3D.
Although Keyshot this big file "grinds" without any problems...

Hi krass, it's looking great! For a high density file one thing that can help is to adjust the display mesh density to be looser so that you will have fewer triangles generated for the shaded display mesh.

To do that, go to Options > View > "Meshing parameters", and set "Mesh angle" to 25 degrees and uncheck "Add detail to inflections". That may help to speed up your display.

Also one of the new things for MoI v3 is that it can use multiple threads for the display engine to help speed up the display too.

- Michael

Hello, Michael!
Thank you very much for the advice - I will take your recommendations!
Unfortunately I do not have the possibility to move to version 3.
Maybe someday in the future.
The more I work in your program, the more I see the beauty and possibilities, thanks! MOI3D gorgeous!

It pleases the fact that imports Keyshot for fast imaging occurs without problems.
It's also nice that Keyshot understand the details of the different colors MOI3D file that allows you to quickly assign the necessary procedural materials. Very convenient.

Thank you, Michael!
It's all thanks to the magic of your program: work very convenient, fast and easy. A real pleasure.

In 3D max I would have gone crazy))

A small experiment in texturing models MOI3D.

1. Export from MOI3D to UVLayut - .OBJ-file settings:
output: n-gons
Angle: 6
Weld Vertices - ON
Avoid smaller: 2
Aspect ratio: 2

2.Next - open the file with UV-coordinates in Substance Painter
3. And - voila!
