Hi mir4ea, it's sort of the original NURBS editing program, it's kind of old and odd in various ways from it's ancient heritage but does have a lot of stuff in it. Even the base package is pretty expensive, the one you link to is 4.400€ . Originally you had to also buy a super expensive specialized Silicon Graphics workstation computer to run it on too, but you don't need the SGI machine for it anymore.

It's kind of the opposite from MoI in a some sense since the UI is sort of semi hostile. It would be kind of an odd thing to get into, you should expect a long ramp up training period with it, it's kind of used only in special circumstances these days, sort of by people who like to spend lots of money on things I guess.

Surface classification in Automotive design.

"Where" the surface is. Class "A" is in your hands. Directly in your vision. What the eye see's from a "general look" from the outside.

Lower classes? Under the hood. Under the car. In the wheel wells. In the trunck, etc...........

People misinterpret this as "some type of BETTER surface.....

Hi mir4ea,

Like Burr says usually "Class A" refers to the exterior visible surfaces of the automobile. Often times it also means doing G2 continuous surfaces as well.

> and moi is good to make this "Class A " surfaces?

MoI is not really targeted on that kind of surface, but it does have some curvature continuity tools in it, like G2 blends. But if this is a major focus for you, you might want to use a different tool like Rhino which has some additional continuity controls in it. In the future I want to add more controls for that in MoI as well, but it tends to be a pretty tricky and advanced area in NURBS modeling and so it has not been a focus for MoI so far.

Hi Mir4ea,

Don't forget the additional 795€ per year subscription for updates and maintenance packs and if you don't want to purchase subscription your looking at 3500€ for an upgrade.

This package is for serious businesses that make money in what they do it's not really for the home user.
