Well, i don't know...

Here i tested also under MoI V1.1, which only has .iges import and it worked (under BootCamp and Windows XP SP3) and also under V2, same set-up and both files work ok and finally under OSX again with V2.52, which also works fine.

So it must be something with your set-up, but better wait for Michael.

Regards
Stefan

Hi mir4ea, do you have your display settings set to make a coarse mesh for your high density scenes?

One potential side effect from that can be display problems in areas where several boundaries are nested closely near each other, which it looks like you do happen to have here. It's possible with a rough triangulation for the boundaries to cross one another, and if they do then there will be some glitches in the display mesh.

So for example if there is a face that has an outer boundary and an inner hole like this:

If the display mesh for those is very coarse and happens to be arranged so that the outer and inner boundary lines cross over each other like this then it will make some display glitches:

If that's what you're seeing those are actually just display problems though, the actual geometry is probably actually ok and can be modeled with and exported or whatever.

You might try setting your display settings back to default for a bit (Mesh angle = 10, and "Add detail to inflections" enabled) and switch them back to rougher settings when you are back to working on a higher complexity model again.

Just did what you saw it does not work.
This files just do not open.
And there is even no any time delay that which is normally present when you import this kind of files.
Some files imports successfully but these no.

Hi mir4ea, that's pretty odd because testing with both v2 and v3 over here seems to open them ok.

Do you have some extended characters with accent marks or things like that in your file path? If so try putting them on a path without anything other than ascii characters on it, I think there was a bug in v2 handling characters like that for STEP, IGES, and SAT imports but which has been fixed in v3.

I'd recommend using v3 instead to open them, is there some reason why you are not doing that?

After opening the file, please they press the reset button on the viewport.
(after loading the file, model is not centered on the coordinate plane and therefore not visible on viewport)

Hi Michael, the problem was in file path one of the folder was named in not ascii characters. Thanx.
The reason I'm not using v3, is that I cannot install any soft here in my work place but v2 was already installed.

It's possible to run v3 without actually "installing" it - after you've done the v3 install at home, copy the entire folder (like c:\Program Files (x86)\MoI 3.0 beta Mar-17-2013) including all sub-folders onto a USB key drive, then at work just copy that same folder onto your desktop or documents directory and you should then be able to run the MoI.exe that's in that folder.

That should work for running MoI v3 on your work machine even if your IT department has disabled admin rights and so you can't run regular installers, unless they have some other more unusual kinds of system locks in place.
