Hi,

I want to know this.
When I add viewport images on Back view,
default image view is flipped like below.

So I have to flip this

how can I fix it.
And how can I flip this image without resizing. :(

I'm using lastest v3 beta.

thanks,

Hi sandykoufax, that's just the way it works, when you initially draw in the back view you are seeing the back of the image too.

> And how can I flip this image without resizing. :(

Resizing is how you flip images - grab a corner of the image and drag it all the way over to the opposite side of the image and it will flip when it passes the opposite side.

If you want to maintain the exact same current size, you can do that by adding in a second copy of that same image, and use snaps when dragging it to snap it onto the existing one.

You can still place it in the back view, just immediately after placing it grab one of the corners and flip it like this:

image flip wouldn't be such a bad idea. could be an option under properties, as it's not such a high priority task UX wise. right now, the whole process is a bit inconsistent, isn't it. it's like taking a back view photo from the front :)

Hi sandykoufax,

I would like to add an image flip in the future.

But just do the flipping step that I show above when you first put in the image, that's when you are specifying its size anyway, so it doesn't make any difference at that point if you change the size right then or not.

You can also get a flip without changing the size using the technique I showed above - place a second copy of the same image into the same model, and when dragging the corner of the second image, let it snap on to the corner of the previous image, you will then have a flipped image of the exact same size, then hide or remove the unflipped one, the new flipped one will be at the top of the list.

Yeah I agree that it would not be a bad idea, and also that it would be better for the image placed in the back view to not be viewed from the back side of it - that's kind of a side effect from the way that the construction plane of the back view is oriented, it gives a reverse view of the front grid and that reversal is being inherited into the image right now.

But it's easy to solve the problem currently by just grabbing a corner and flipping the image as shown above...
