Hi Mark, projects that are more organic in nature and are not mostly defined by 2D profile curves can often be more naturally suited for a sub-d polygon modeler, and a shoe will be getting into that territory.

It could be possible to do it in MoI but it will require a generally more advanced use of tools that tends to require more experience.

More mechanical type shapes are more strongly defined by 2D profile curves, and that's when using a NURBS modeler like MoI becomes a very natural and easy to use fit.

So for your particular case if you are already experienced in C4d it may be easier for you to do this particular project there.

Hi Mark,

I don't know if C4D has subD modeling but if it does, that would be a good way to proceed. The shoe here (http://www.plazadelpixo.com/miscellaneous.html - 2nd row 3rd from the right) was made using Modo's subD modeling and it worked pretty well. Good luck.
