Hi mir4ea, MoI does not quite have groups yet exactly. It does have named objects and you can give multiple objects the same name to be able to hide/show/select/lock them using the Objects section of the scene browser.
To assign more objects to one of those groups, give the other objects the same name as the group you want it to belong to.
There is a plug-in that can help with that here:

That plug-in pops up a dialog with a list of existing object names, you can then double click one to assign the current selection to that name.
I do expect to add some kind of menu item like "assign to this name" to the objects section of the scene browser as well when I'm back to working on it.
