Maybe with the Flow function
Of course you must put the exact number of tiles (not like me where I take a square number of tiles)
and with an offset by line of course ;)
So draw the project from view top and project them

Another solution will be to use the Array Circular line by line
And decrease number of tiles line after line

Else use a texture of tiles in your favorite render if you want not draw each tiles!

I think there is a script for jewel array or array gem command, so you can array the tiles over the dome surface on each correct line.

i did a basic search but couldn't find it, but there must be somewhere here in the forum.

**Edit: founded, look here for ArrayGem command: http://moi3d.com/2.0/docs/moi_command_reference10.htm
just set up a shortcut key on your options

Are the tiles getting smaller as they go up?
The tiles seem to line up vertically.
It looks fibonacci-ish and paracloud gem-ish?
