I have not been using MoI for about a month ... busy doing working drawings for a fairly complicated retail store renovation so I needed to do mostly 2d dimensioned drawings.

Today I prepared an illustration detail for some steel structural stuff and working with MoI in 3d was a real pleasure again. Simple stuff really but MoI is so easy to work with. I used SimLab 3d PDF to send it to the contractor. Nice tools.

By the way, and not your problem; ViaCad does not work well on either of my computers since I moved up to Windows 8 and they seem impossible to contact. I would hesitate to recommend it for dimensioned (or any) drawings at this point.

Thanks eric, I'm glad that MoI retains that "easy to work with" feel for you - making the basic simple stuff like snapping and simple drawing fast and fluid feeling is one of the major goals for MoI.

Hmm that is a bummer than ViaCAD is having problems with Windows 8, hopefully that's something they are working on addressing but it would be reassuring if they would say something about it.

ViaCAD Pro v8 is working just fine here on my Windows 8 machine so there may be some other problem with your setup.

The developer, Tim Olson, has been away from the ViaCAD forum for a while now, but according to other members, that is what he does when he's busy with new stuff.

I'll try to work on this further and check in with the Forum there, as well. Glad to hear that it is only my systems that are giving trouble.

Is your machine running at 64 bits?
