General mechanic tests started on February 13 at overbuilded ring of Monza's racing track
car was driven by six pilots (3 hours each)
after four days of no-stop drive at incredible average speed of 109 Kmh they got first records
the race finished on February 20

Total distance covered:18.186,44 Km
Total time test:168 hours
Total average speed:108,252 Kmh

One year later they achieved last records

Average speed on 1000 Miles:159,667 Kmh
Average speed on 500 Miles:165,740 Kmh

That's an amazing result and lofting sure is easier than building individual panels.

I wonder if your loft technique would work for a typical modern car design, or if it would only work for a streamline shape like the Abarth?

If you can get the basic car shape with a loft, then scoops and ridges can be added as demonstrated by Majik Mike and others.
