retaining non-moi information in files

Hi Michael,

From what i understand, at this point any information in a 3dm-file that is not supported by Moi is lost after a save, e.g. lights, layers etc. Would it be possible to retain that information. I image this may be more difficult for attributes of objects like layers, but easier for objects like ligths.

Hi Michael, I'm not quite sure yet, but it is on my list of stuff to try and squeeze in (which is getting pretty short now). If it ends up taking too much time it might not make it, but if it does not end up being too difficult I should be able to do it.

Hi Michael, this is ready for the next beta. MoI will now preserve stuff in a .3dm file that it does not normally edit. That's things like lights, dimensions, annotation dots, point clouds, and layers and materials.

Layer assignments for individual objects will be preserved if you do not edit them. Anything that you edit in MoI will go on just a single layer named "Default".

Please let me know if it seems to be working right for you once you get a chance to mess with it.
