This little script can be used to make chamfered hex rods.
Complete a hex nut with the makeThreadTap script: http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=5473.1
or make a hex bolt using the makeExternalThread script: http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=5451.1

MoI 3.0 beta Apr-16-2012\commands

MoI 3.0 beta Apr-16-2012 = the root folder of Moi... I dont know which version you use of course.

unzip the file and place the 2 files in the \commands folder.

Peace,
Rich_Art. ;-)

Hi Mattj,

on a Mac it's a bit harder to get to the commads folder but once you found it just pull this folder to the SideBar of the Finder for quicker access in the future.

I attached a visual guide.

thanks for help. MOI support brilliant as ever!
I think this would be even better if you could choose specific sizes say DIN.

I actually started this script with hex nuts in mind and it had a drop down list of DIN EN ISO 4032 sizes but then I found this limiting. This script can do more :) Now you have to look up a table but you get a more universal script. You also want bolt heads, higher nuts, imperial sizes or just a plain hex rod.

Mmmmm....

Thanks for the script Martin!

...yes! I can make "stand-offs" too by inputting my desired height. It will be useful for circuit projects planning.

Martin, thank you very much.
I like this handy script, so I decided to improve it.

Here is the changelist:
Nut and bolt size table (ISO 4032/4014, ASME B 18.2.2)
Chamfer depth setting
Some interface improvements
