Dear all,
any idea how to do this simple thing?. Bear with me as I am less than a novice in all this

1-would like to create that design but all solid through (right now looks to me that in the sweep option outcome, it comes out hollow)

Thank you
Rudy

Hi Rudy, it looks like the cause of your problem is that the different parts of your shape curves do not touch each other:

That's the middle one where there is a space between the 2 halves. It looks like one on the end may touch ends on one side, but then not be aligned on the other side - surfaces created through these kinds of curves will not create a clean "cap" at the end.

I'll post an example of what you can try instead in a minute.

This is the other endpoint problem - this is a zoom in on the upper section:

The line and the upper part had the same endpoint on one side which allowed them to be joined into one curve at that spot, but the other ends don't line up, the line is shooting off past the other end a bit.

So to clean this up, I used Edit/Separate, then used Transform/Scale/Scale1D to stretch the upper part so that it matched the line underneath it, then rejoined them. This type of tuneup was needed on the middle and top sections (result .zip attached).

With those cleaned up, it should now sweep into a capped solid like you want.

Michael,
thanks you so much.
I have learned the importance of clean junctions, alignment and zooming those parts,
.... very good lesson indeed.
I really appreciate the time you are taking with me.

Rudy
