I have experience with both Wacom Bamboo small and Wacom Intuos medium.

I can really recomment the use of the Intuos. It works perfectly with Moi and above the Bamboo, the Intuos has a "touch wheel" which is ideal for zooming in and out.

Hi Martin, over here I have a Wacom Intuos, which is Wacom's kind of higher end line - it's it a bit more expensive but nicer in general.

But usually MoI works best with a tablet if you have already been using one for a while already.

If you have spent a long time using a mouse it can be a little bit strange in general to get used to using the tablet instead, but it can be good if you already spent quite a bit of time drawing with a regular pen or pencil.

There is nothing really inherently better about using a tablet with MoI, it's more that MoI's UI is set up so that it also works ok with a tablet as well as a mouse.

Thanks Raoul & Michael - I have opted for an Aiptek MediaTablet Ultimate II - It apparently has the same aspect ratio as my monitor which is 16:10 rather than 16:9. I am an old boy designer and i am fluent in pencil and hold a black belt in eraser and French curve handling, however I am totally dyslexic with a mouse whilst drawing, maybe the tablet will help, a pen and pencil is more natural to me, but i have also been using a mouse with CAD packages for over 10 years so it's going to be interesting to see what happens - :¬)

Hi Martin, that tablet should work fine.

Yeah it's kind of hard to know in advance whether you are going to like it or not, it sounds like maybe you would have been better off using a tablet back some time ago!

Since you are comfortable with pen and pencil, it's definitely worth a try.

Some other things to try with your tablet are ArtRage and SketchBook Pro (2D drawing apps).

I have a Bamboo and it works perfect for me. I had a Intuos but sold it because I did not use it enough to justify the costs.

I highly recommend XP-Pen tablets as well. I have the XP-Pen Artist15.6 , which was, at the time, the medium sized tablet in the Intuos line (I say 'at the time' because mine is over a year old now, and I'm not quite up to speed on their recent offerings). It has good pressure sensitivity, is easy to set up and use, comes with replacement pen nibs, and works well with various graphics programs (including Corel Painter, which is what I use). All I can say is that it's miles ahead of drawing with a mouse.
