Is there any way to import the Cubify Invent .fun file format into MoI?

This would be a great little tool to work with MoI for those on a budget.

Has anyone exported from MoI into it? I'm curious how they play together.

(I don't have MoI yet, just tested the Mac beta and haven't pulled the trigger yet)

Thanks!

Hi rhadiem,

As far as I know the .fun file format is an undocumented format that is private to Cubify Invent, so no it's not usually possible to read such private formats into other programs.

Cubify Invent would need to export to one of the regular inter-op CAD formats like IGES, STEP, SAT, or 3DM in order for it to export CAD data to other programs.

Hi rhadiem, I guess that basically they've intentionally left out some stuff from Cubify Invent like export to other file formats than .fun / .stl intentionally to make it more of a stripped down version of Alibre. If you get the regular Alibre version then you would have that other export stuff enabled.
