Just use MoI. You can insert an icon object in place that will launch MoI during the presentation.

If you have some other apps at your disposal, like solidworks, you can save the geometry out and embed an edrawings file object in the presentation.

Sadly, I really need to import drawing elements into Powerpoint to have it then adapted to our corporate color templates etc. Below is the chart that I want to improve on. Apology for the consulting jargon used in the chart.

Hi,

another option you could try is that you use the "CaptureViewToClipboard" script along with some other very useful scripts*, from the scripts repository. Just use a large resolution and proper line width and then scale down the image to get nice antialiased pictures for your presentation. And then set the background to white in MoI and disable the Grid display. Assuming you can import bitmap graphics into PowerPoint.

*like hiding seams, hidden line removal, etc.

Just a quick test, but you get the idea...

Stefan

Hi, me again...

and with Michael's lighting settings and an additional copy/pasted edges i was able to match your color scheme as a small test. In this case i choose a grey background color to see the white outlines.

Stefan

Color matching I guess is the thing.

(edit) I ran auto rotate on the 3d objects during my presentation....... Stacking the edges from the original surfaces made the edges really stand out brightly too. (edit)

Very impressive :)

Meanwhile, I was able to get Illustrator to recognize the various arrows etc. as individual shapes, using the Pathfinder options (although it missed two of them somehow), and get them colored individually. I then could import the drawing into Powerpoint but it was still uneditable (just a picture), although I could recolor it with the corporate palette. Not exactly what I wanted, but probably good enough. There must be a way though...

Left is the second chart I am working on, on cash optimization. Right is the wheel that I had drawn in MoI, exported to Illustrator, applied Pathfinder to create the areas that I color-coded light-medium-dark, then exported to Powerpoint and color-edited with the corporate palette of blues. I must have missed a step as all the colors are down a hue. Rats!

Quite good, but still not the individually editable shapes that I want. Naturally, I could do the coloring in Illustrator since I know the exact values for each color. I will keep searching...

I finally managed to get through, but that cost me half a Saturday :(

Honestly, it is not a MoI discussion, but rather more an Illustrator one. I HATE Illustrator ! But I have to admit that eventually you do get professional-level art out of it, but why does it have to be that painful ?

Now, I just have to tackle the other chart, and maybe one or two others so that they all have the same look and feel.
