A new v3 beta (version Apr-16-2012) is now available for download here: http://moi3d.com/beta.htm , also linked to from the download page on the main web site.

This release is just to extend the expiration date for 6 more months, v3 development has been on hold while the Mac version has been being developed - that's nearly finished now and so I'll be starting up with new v3 features again soon.

There are no major new features for this release, but it does have an update to the IGES/STEP/SAT libraries and various minor bug fixes in it.

Hi Marco, the new novelty for the past 6 months has been the new OSX version.

That has ended up taking a lot of time but it's close to being wrapped up and then I will be back to working on new v3 features soon.

It's probably not very easy to perfect 'perfection'.... like trying to add '5-Hour Energy' capability to the Hostess Twinkie. (save that idea) ;-)

Thanks for the extension Michael, look forward to exploiting your future innovations!

LOL! Not that I'm comparing MoI to a Twinkie. The Twinkie has to be one of the greatest scientific achievements of modern man. =-o

Thank you Michael.

Copied some of the extra scripts to command folder manually. There was a utility previously?

Conic htm had an update...
Twist had a later date...

Yeah sorry I forgot about that utility, it's attached here.

The attached utility program will copy plug-ins from MoI v2 into the latest beta's \commands folder.

Thanks Michael.

It's funny how you have to add '(Windows version)' these days, It's great to be part of the evolution.

Cheers

Hi Rich_Art,

> Is there a change log somewhere? :-)

I have one internally that goes over every little change but since that would be so long and kind of technical I usually only mention the major new features, but for this particular release there really aren't any.

Ok no problem but I had a strange behavior tomorrow. I drew some help lines and clicked the object off. After reselecting the object the help lines showed up again.
Never seen this behavior before so I thought it was a new function.
I must admit that I can't reproduce it.... :-( So I must have done something to make this happen. (I'm aware of the script for keeping the help lines life)

Peace,
Rich_Art. ;-)

Hi Rich_Art, hmmm yeah I don't think that there should have been any changes that would affect construction lines.

Is it possible that you've got that "keep construction lines" script set up on a shortcut key and you happened to press that key accidentally that one time?

Please let me know if it happens t you again or if you see any pattern for how it is happening.

Thanks,
- Michael

I recall that from ver 2 to 3 it needed fixing also

No worries I downloaded the ringcircle repaired script posted before and copied in lines 12 through 15
all fixed

Any chance the script copier posted that goes from ver 2 to 3 be updated for ver 3 beta oct to ver3 beta april 2012

thanks
shayne

Hi shayne,

Yeah there is an updated ring circle plug-in posted previously, some links here:

They've never worked for copying from one beta to another beta, they're set up to copy from the release version into the current beta...

All it does is copy files from one \commands folder to the other installation's \commands folder, you can just use windows file explorer to copy the plug-ins you need over, or any file copy utility will do.

So for example a simple way to do it is to just go to your older beta's \commands folder, select all the files there by pushing Ctrl+A, and then do Ctrl+C, then navigate to the new beta's \commands folder and push Ctrl+V inside there - then all the files will be copied over and when it asks if you want to overwrite any just press "No to all" to not do any overwriting - that will do the equivalent of the script copier utility.

I don't really want to mess with creating another separate utility for it since it's actually something that's easy to do just with the regular Windows file management tools...

I fixed my ringcircle problem by coping the script lines 12-15 from the posted fix last update

When are you going to stop playing with the Mac version and get back to the important stuff
and finish the ver3, No body cares about mac's anyway :) he he

looking forward to new features , flow is working brilliantly although the button looks empty

ps I would still really like to see a 2 measurement fillet
like the 2 measurement chamfer

cheers
