how does planar and bend work?

I can figure out most the tools in MOI, but planar and bend dont seem to do anything. I turn on the tool, select two objects, and then activate the tool, and nothing happens. What do these two tools do? I cant get any curves or surfaces to bend and I cant get any non-planar objects to be planar.

Hi Arquebus,

Planar creates a flat surface from a closed curve that is "planar"
meaning it's flat to a particular plane as opposed to being curved in
all three planes, X Y and Z. Also, if you have, let's say a box with an open side,
Planar will cap it with a flat surface because the edges of the
open side of the box are all on the same plane.

Blend puts a transitional surface between two surfaces, or a transitional curve
between two curves.

I just discovered something cool..Blend has history turned on...so if you move the construction curve of one of the
originating surfaces of a blended surface, the blend surface stretches to accommodate
the movement of the originating surface.

Just a quick note - this will be different in the next beta. In the next beta it will always do the automatic calculation for aligning the blended surface. But before you finish the blend you will also be able to flip any edge to allow you to fix up any cases where the automatic matching did not do a good job, which is relatively rare but can happen in some arrangements.

This same thing will apply to Loft in the next beta as well. So I think that will reduce one common area of confusion.

Also I've completely rewritten surface blending so it will generate a lot better quality surfaces for this next beta. In the current beta it can generate pretty poor results in a lot of cases.
