Hi Martin!

by "guides" do you mean the GRID or the CLINEs? CLINES(ConstructionLines) should be visible all the time..you could check, if DISPLAY HIDDEN LINES in the OPTIONS panel is checked.

Oops ambiguous question ... The thing i am after is more like a ghosted surface. Example would be vehicle outline. blueprint etc, when you are modelling say the door curves and surfaces, I have to hide the resulting surface because i cant see the door handle recess or the keyhole. It's not a problem hiding things but it would be easier if i could see through the surface.

Ah, i see..well for blueprints/images, you could fiddle with the DRAW and TRANSPARENCY settings in the IMAGE tab to get a kind of '"ghosting" behaviour..
