I'm just wondering - I've attached a picture for my example.



If I want the shape A (in 2 separate objects) should I use shape B or shape C for the base disc?

ie. does one render better than the other? (for some technical reason? :P)

Hi NightCabbage, well it depends on what kind of render that you're doing.

Are either of the objects going to be translucent? Are you doing a "toon style" render where silhouette edges are accented?

If you're doing some special effects like that then you may want to worry about what's going on in the interior part of the object like that, but if you're doing just simple regular shaded rendering it will not make any difference and your B shape is the easiest to make so that's the one you would probably want for just a regular render.
