Очень хороший!
Спасибо

Thanks Andrei, I'm glad this was very well demonstrated.
And this qualifies for my "first" video tutorial. ;-)

OMG! Mike this is exactly what I have been trying to figure out for some of my guitar bodies! You must be reading my mind or something! Hopefully I can work on this over the weekend. I have no doubt I will get lost, but I will rely on you guys to walk me down if I do. Fantastic tutorial! Thanks to you and everyone on the forum for their experience and expertise. :)

I really glad to hear that John!

Try making a lot of practice attempts on different shapes. The use of Blend - then Trimming arcs - then more Blends can yield a lot of fantastic work.

This particular model is made up with "swarms" of offset Blend transitions!

Look at the two-hole port on the side of the satellite speaker, you can see the tell-tale arc fixes.
And also note the recesses for the selection buttons on the face of the main unit, they start their transition at the bottom and scoop in higher up.

Andrei,

I am still having trouble with this technique - any chance you could do your video in English? I've watched the Russian version for clues and read the post from Mike. But I am still not getting the results I want. It would be greatly appreciated! If not I understand, I am not sure where you guys find the time to do the magic you do to begin with!

the video is exactly the same than the tutorial who begins here in English! ;)
http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=4880.1

or here in French! ;)

I think that you must post the place and a file 3Dm where you are blocked!

PS @ Majikmike you have an error of link under the image "Surface Blending technic"

Problem in general with the Blend function arrives with these Side 1 and Side 2 !

Blend works in this case only if Side 1 and Side 2 are both "Edges" of the surfaces (here the rectangle and the recessed surface) and not any curves of construction!
A little trick is to read on the Info box up right corner when you select them!
if it's "Edge(s)" it's OK, if it's "Curve(s)" Blend will make nothing!

So delete or hide these "curves" of construction!

And Blend will works at each time! ;)

Hay people,
Looks like nobody here showed this method yet, much faster and simpler:

Very nice Andrei but I don't understand how in 0:50 of the video you condense/simplify the points of the cut surface so that you can later move them. Is it a command that you're typing ? if so which one is it?

I can imagine dreaming up icons that represent some of these commands would leave Michael with a serious migraine, so perhaps we could convince him to just create a single icon of a treasure chest (or toy box?) that opens a list of the many many scripts and commands available but easily forgotten. At least easily forgotten by folks like me who only get back to the program periodically.
