flow problem

Flow works great in MOI. It stays a solid and all is good but when I export the object to another program (stp, IGS SAT) (rhino, autodesk, 123D, turbocad, freecad) it doesn't necessarily come out as a solid or correctly. Is there something I'm missing? plus when I try to save it as a STL I get errors (the same errors I would get from a non solid)

thanks

Val

Hi Val - this is a bug in flow - it has a problem with surfaces that have a collapsed down pole point in them like a sphere.

If you zoom in quite closely to the pole area you can kind of see a little disturbance in that area - the deformed result has some kind of little bit of overlap or something like that just right in the area around the pole.

So anyway that's what you're running into here and that's making some self-intersecting triangles in the STL output.

I think it should not be too hard for me to fix this bug up once I get a chance to focus on it, thanks for reporting it.

- Michael

Michael,

Thanks for the reply. That would be great. I have many uses for the flow command. Right now it's great to play with it but I can't really use it unless I can get it out of Moi.

Val
