Just use the new function Deform Flow after your twist
Draw a start line
It will be round if your curve end is round ;)

A little video about the flow function (sorry in French)

Also Citroelf,

You can also control where the twist stops and starts - therefore you can get that variation that is in your example.

In this pic, you can see where I twisted the bars in very specific places...

Thanks very much Citroelf!

When you activate the Twist command, it asks you where the Start and End points of the Twist Axis are.

Then you choose the check-box "Limit To Axis". You can also determine the rate by which Twist transitions into the twist by using the sliders.

To make the Twist rotate with an opposite spin, input a negative angle.

Hi citroelf, it looks like you've got all the info you need to do it! :)

Just one more thing to mention - to get the same kind of shape as your original one where the center part is untwisted, you'll probably want to use the Twist command 2 times with the "Limit to axis" option turned on so that you can only twist the end parts of the bar.

So then for each twist you would pick points for the twist axis like this, with the first point being towards the center of your shape:

Then repeat that twist on the other side, or I guess you can just mirror it and boolean union the 2 mirrored pieces together.

But anyway, you'll probably want to put your twist axis points to one side of the object and then use "Limit to axis" so that the part of the object outside the axis zone does not get twisted.

- Michael
