The names Brandt!

Glad to be here!!! I am a animation/toy designer and a Fine Artist -- hoping to be able to model figures and sent them to my Carvewright -- to create tooling and patterns for limited edition toys/figures.

As my first question... any idea why the avatar/icon upload option doesn't work under the accounts options?

Very excited!!!

Thanks! -- So do I. I am a sculptor by trade a well, so I am hoping that there is an easier learning curve here with Moi...

Hi Brant, welcome! I'm glad you are excited about modeling with MoI!

Just in case you haven't seen them yet, one of the quickest ways to get started is to watch the video tutorials from here:
http://moi3d.com/2.0/docs/tutorials.htm

There's also a collection of various links to other tutorials and stuff here:
http://moi3d.com/resources

And then this forum is a great place to ask questions!

Sorry about that - this forum has been modified to be simplified and have some stuff like avatars removed but there are still vestigial remains of it in certain setting areas. So please just ignore that, it isn't actually used anywhere in the forum.

For me it was easier to learn moi than any other modeling program including subdivision modeling thats a way harder than NURBS but if you came from a subD environment it may take you time to get used to it, but believe me, its very very easy!

Hey brandT

I also use a Carvewright and Moi is perfect for it...the stl import great if you have stl importer with CW. Just make sure everything is joined in moi or when you import into CW's Designer software sometimes you end up with very small pointy spikes...they wont carve..way too small..but look annoying. Other program I use a lot is zbrush after moi...but you can do a lot of the same things with sculptris and it's free.

Good Luck
